Good news for everyone that has enjoyed riding at the Scout Camp and those of you who have yet to enjoy the trails there. Last week, Richmond-MORE and the Heart of Virginia Council of the Boy Scouts of America signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will allow riding at Camp Brady Saunders in Goochland.
We will be able to schedule rides twice a week including night rides except for six weeks in June and July when Boy Scout campers are using the camp. In return Richmond-MORE has agreed to pay for a trail assessment and schedule four work days per year.
We would like to thanks Bill Swann from Richmond ASR and Ed Jones of CyclesEd as well as the Heart of Virginia Council for all of their hard work in making this happen.
Please note that the Scout Camp trails are still private trails and CLOSED AT ALL TIMES other than scheduled rides.
We are tentatively planning our first trail maintenance day for National Trails Day on June 2nd. We’ll send out further information once our plans are finalized.
We are also looking for ride leaders to host scheduled rides beginning in August. Please emailinfo@richmond-more.org if you are interested in volunteering to be a ride leader.
