Our 2018 Take a Kid Mountain Bike day was a huge success! After having the first scheduled event date postponed due to rain, we ended up with a beautiful afternoon. In all, we had almost 40 kids of all ages and skill level attend. There was an awesome crew of volunteers including the guys from the RVA Racing team, who led and swept all of the trail rides. Coaches and kids from the Chesterfield Chain Gang and Henrico Composite mountain bike teams helped with skills clinics and rides with River City Women’s racing managing registration. Some of the parents rode along with the kids, others hung out while their kids played around in the skills park or joined a ride. The peak of the excitement was raffling off a brand new mountain bike courtesy of Giant Bicycles and Pedal Power. Congratulations to Ollie Baldwin who was the big winner. These kids are the future of mountain biking in Richmond and we look forward to putting on more events in the future. See everyone next year!
