On June 7th, RVA MORE will be teaming up with RVA Mountain Biking and JROC for a National Trails Day event.

During Spring and Summer, the local trails get over-grown and sight-lines disappear.  We have too many miles of trail for the park staff to take care of, so on June 7th, we’ll be clearing up the over-growth and opening sight-line on ALL the James River Trails (Buttermilk, Northbank, Forest Hill, Belle Isle and Dogwood Dell).  We’re calling the event Prune-a-palooza.

Join us at the picnic shelter at the Carillon (near the dog park) at 9am on Saturday, June 7th.  Feel free to bring your favorite pruning tools (hand pruners, loppers, hand saws) or use some of our’s.  If you’re sensitive to poison ivy we suggest that you wear long pant, long sleeves and gloves.

Then, after a morning of pruning, join us for BBQ (food and drinks) at the picnic shelter.

Prune-a-palooza is being sponsored by our good friends at REI, Mountain Khakis and Zanfel.

Sign-up on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/events/238555066337061 or by emailing info@rvamore.org – we want to make sure we have enough food and drink for everyone!
